9-1-2013 DB's Dailies: Kea@AD, Benny@SB, Buster&Right Spot@Malaekahana, M&M@White Plains

At 0550 I found Kea (RN46) in his channel/tide pool at the rock flats 100yds east of the AD wall. At 0635 he would exit the tide pool and venture out onto the flats, headed out, checking other tide pools. Just before reaching the end he made a left turn and moved into the waters just east of the flats, where he foraged from 0721 until 0900. He hauled out to his usual snooze spot near his starting point. Apparently he slept away most of the day except for getting washed into the water briefly.

Karen Rohter called at 1231 to advise that there had been a swimming head visitor the the pup site. There was zero doubt in my mind that it was Benny. He looked around but did not haul out, and did not see Kea, and moved on.

At 1243 lifeguard posse member Billy called from Sandy Beach to advise that an animal was trying to haul out all along the SB fronting, but the idiots were at the water line, following him and would not listen to the lifeguards telling them to back off. He would depart. Billy called again at 1316 to say that the animal was back and had managed to haul out at "Half Point" at SB. As I arrived at 1321 I could see Bennys (RE74) swimming head, headed east, close to shore with wall to wall idiots right there following him. I managed to get ahead of him and got the masses backed off so he could haul out to the far east end of SBat 1331. I got him cordoned off, and he remains. Watching my fellow man’s behavior makes me ashamed to be a human. Sad, Sad, Sad !! Benny would depart at 1538.

Team Billand called at 0734 with the report of M&M (R020), fronting #1706 at White Plains. WP leaves much to be desired but its gotta’ be better than wall to wall fishing pools at Kalaeloa Campgrounds.

The absolute highlight of the day came at 0934 with a call from Tati. She had found, and photographed Right Spot (R016) & BUSTER (RV08) together at Malaekahana near Laie. This is my 3rd born’s first adventure up the east side and to the north shore. Ah.. The power of Lust !
