9-3-2013 DB's Dailies: Kea@AD, Irma,RK36&Benny@KBP, Benny@SB, Duke@RI, Kaiwi@BF, M&M@WP, Rocky@Kaimana

At 0520 I found Irma (R010)&RK36 having overnighted at Kaupo Beach Park. They would relocate during the day (thank you Lesley for the help). Thankfully, they were gone on my 1911 check.

At 0600 I found Kea (RN46) in a tide pool , 100 ft east of the AD wall. Thankfully, he would exit the pool and begin moving east, snoozin’ on an outside rock for a bit, but then after being washed off at 1006 , continuing his adventure to the east, going as far as his nook at the 200 yd rock flats. After hanging out there for a while he began moving back to the west, arriving back at his snooze rock, on the 100 yd flats at 1121.

Benny had been doing his usual "cruiser male" thing all morning, and Lesley advised that he was in the KBP area. He finally hauled out the surf spot "Cockroach Cove" at KBP 1222. We cordoned him off and he remained. He was gone on my 1544 check, but that was not to be the last of Benny. He hauled out at Sandy Beach at 1849. I picked up the rope at 1926 and he was still there.

At 1205 Gayle called with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) at Buster Flats, Lanai Lookout.

At 0728 Team Billand reported M&M (R020) fronting #1944, White Plains. She departed at 1822.

Ocean Safety called at 1638 with the report of an animal at 2H (San Souci). Dera advised that Colleen was going and that it was Rocky (RH58). No further word.

Correcting for DB:
RE74 Benny hauled out to rest @ Baby Makapu'u (and not @ Cockroach Cove also known as Eternity Beach)

It was a hetic day. Thank you DB for coming to the rescue with more equipment for "Benny's" SPZ. As you say: You've done good !
Aloha, Lesley
