12/30/2010 Team Billand Reports In

Hi Blog Lady,
First of all Happy New Year!!!  Happy New Year to you and Rob... and may the two of you continue to be blessed this year.!
DB is out, he asked if I could send the photos to you. We had an exciting day at White Plains and Maili.
Our first seal was R028 snoozing alone at Maili Pt. She looked so peaceful.
Next was Kermit on his 6th day at White Plains cottage 1706. He was comotose himself, but, later moved down to the waters edge. No molt spotted yet.

We were on our way to the H1, when we got a call from the lifeguard, a seal was hauling up at Plains, but not in Kermits perimeter. He was at his own cottage at 1708. We rushed back to the Plains to
find.......BENNY RE74, up near the Fence area of the cottage. We quickly signed him off and roped both sides of the area. There was no room for people to pass him . We allowed folks to pass in front as Benny was way up. That went well for a while. But Benny moved down to the waters edge and we had to quickly tell folks to paa around him from above...that was hard. We had folks in front of Benny still...so we had to tell all to GO AROUND NOW. And wouldnt you know the kid moved up AGAIN.
Down at Kermits Area, he had also moved down to the waters edge, so we had to fix that perimeter too. Get folks to go AROUND.
Again the life guard came scrambbling down to us, a third seal was trying to haul in at Plains near the showers this time. But too many folks crowding it, so it kept going towards Benny, then passing KErmit. Finally, as I was following the seal, it stopped, turned into cottage 1760. It was Ewa Girl, and boy she is plump again. Looking just beautiful and her N2 bleach was perfectly showing while she was swimming about, running from all those people. I called Robert who was with Benny, I needed signs, folks are coming. We got her signed off, no ropes. Her area was on a steep incline, full of erosion from large waves and storms.
It was nuts out there and so we called Dana Jones and she got One volunteer...Jim Brown. Both came out to Plains, we are so very grateful for the help. And they got to meet our abandoned dogs who came out of the bushes. Any one interested in these sweet dogs, let me know.
The End......B
Kermit
