It was nevertheless, a very interesting day. At 0741 I found RIP and Buster doing 8 minute dives at Spitting Cave. RIP was immediately identifiable, but I had to come back for an afternoon session to confirm the Buster ID.
At 0807 , posse member Jack from Hanauma Bay called to report that one of the morning regulars had apparently see and photographed a large Monk Seal , just inside the "cable channel, at a spot called "Sandman's Patch", sometime between 0700 and 0800 this morning. I did a half hour on top, and another half hour at Toilet Bowl but found nobody. At 1555, Alan Hong forwarded a shot from Larry Winnick, taken at 0726 this morning. Duh ???? It's definitely Irma (N3). Thank You.....very much to Larry........Ya' Done Good !!!
The Billands reported R018 at Maili Pt, at 1200, and Kermit at the right side of the Nimitz Beach jetty at 1322.
Awesome posse person ,Diane Pike sent KP2 photos from the wharf on Molokai today. Check www.monksealmania.blogspot.com for more . Aloha, DB
