DB Post Saturday 4/11/2009

On my 2nd check of Rabbit Island, at 0900, I found RIP and R301 at the right end of the beach, fronting 3BS. R301 would remain there all day, but RIP would do some afternoon cruisin'.

At 0948, Buster hauled out at the left end, fronting 1BS. He would remain there all day.

As I panned down the beach at 0950 I suddenly found Sadie at mid beach at 3BS, she was in the process of moving down from the Morning Glory and old turtle nest depressions . She had been totally hidden from me until she started down. She would remain near the water line the rest of the day.

At 1314 RIP entered the water and spent the afternoon doing his cruiser thing , swimming up and down the beach , hauling out to each of the others, wanting to do something, but nobody paid him any attention. After short stays he would slow roll back to the water and continue on the the next animal. He did that the rest of the afternoon, ultimately ending up right where he'd started with R301.

Colleen Heyer called at 0718 to report Irma at Diamond Head. She was apparently right where she'd been yesterday, so an overnighter is a distinct possibility.

The Billands reported R018 at Maili Point at 0820, then 2AW at Tracks (Kahe Power Plant) at 0850, and then Kermit foraging off shore of Nimitz Beach at 0936. Aloha, DB
