9/26/2014 Additional Haupu RB24 Photos

Aloha Good People.... Here are some additional pictures of Haupu at Nimitz.... thank you Diane T for helping out today and sharing your pics....
 Haupu has a little friend.

9/26/2014 DB's Dailies: Nani,Duke,Kainoa&Kaiwi@RI, Rocky@Kaimana, Kolohe@Nanakuli, Haupu@Nimitz Cottages

At 0645 on my first look at Rabbit Island I found what would prove to be Nani (RK60) snoozin’ in the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS, and Duke (RA12) with Kainoa (RN04) fronting 1BS.

On my 2nd look at 0824 I found that Kaiwi (RK96) had joined the cast, snoozin’ in the Morning Glory 10 ft left of 3BS. She would galumph over to Right Middle Cliff at 0947.

Nani would decide to enter the water at 0850 and as she passed Duke he followed her. Kainoa took up the rear. All three were in by 0903.

All 3 would show up again. First Kainoa hauled out at 1102 to 1BS. Duke followed at 1124, and at 1241 Nani hauled out to join the boys. The entire cast remained the rest of the day.

At 0640 the Billands found Kolohe (RW22) once again doing his cruiser male thing in Nanakuli. He made a couple of beach checks but returned to the water. They followed him for a while but eventually lost him.

Colleen Heyer called at 0736 with the report of Rock (RH58) once again at Kaimana Beach. Both Colleen and Christian sent photos. Rocky is progressing rapidly with her molt. Melanie reported Rocky’s departure at 1303.

At 0800 Team Billand reported Haupu (RB24) fronting #1811, pavilion, Nimitz Cottages . Thanks to Diane T., & Laurie D., for covering Haupu. Diane T., reported her departure at 1330.

9/25/2014 DB's Dailies: Kaiwi,Duke&Nani@RI, Haupu@Nimitz Cove, U'ilani@ Reef Runway

At 0859 I found Kaiwi (RK96) snoozin’ on the water front rocks fronting Right Middle Cliff, on Rabbit Island. She would remain there all day.

Also at 0859 on a pan I found what would proved to be Duke (RA12) also on the water front rocks, fronting 3BS.

On my 1420 recheck he had relocated to join Kaiwi. On a pan at 1133 I found Nani (RK60), 30 ft right of 1BS. She remained there the rest of the day.

Both Gayle and I covered the rest of the SE quadrant, but that was today’s cast.

At 0653 Team Billand advised that they were following Kolohe (RW22) as he did his “cruiser male” thing, passing through Nanakuli.

At 0833 the Billands reported Haupu (RB24) at Nimitz Cove. She would depart at 1445.

At 1028 Team Billand found U’ilani (RN36) at the Reef Runway.

The Billands did a Campbell Industrial Park check in the afternoon. A fisherman at Palm Grove advised them that “N28", Pohaku (RO28) had been there in the morning, but was now gone.

Colleen sent Rocky (RH58) photos from this morning. Volunteer Ruth advised that Rocky had departed around noon.

9/24/2014 DB Dailies: Aukai,Kekoa&Kaiwi@RI, Ua Malie@HR, La'akea@TB, Right Spot@Sunset, Haupu@Nimitz Cove,

On my first look at Rabbit Island, at 0627 I found Kaiwi (RK96) at Right Middle Cliff. She would remain there all day.

On a pan at 1035 I found Kekoa (RK72), newly arrived to the right side rocks of Seal Rock Inlet. He too would remain there the rest of the day.

Again on a pan at 1043 I found Aukai (RL12) just hauling out to mid Middle Cliff. She snoozed away the rest of the day there.

Despite both Gayle and I checking the rest of the east spots, that was the cast for today.

At 0739 Team Billand reported Haupu (RB24) at Nimitz Cove. She would depart at 1340.

At 0853 Dana called with word that Rocky (RH58) had over nighted a Kaimana. Colleen did a check and provided a molt shot. At 1900 email from Colleen advised that Rocky had been gone all day, but had returned at 1900 according to volunteer Ruth, but a dog ran her off. A 1917 ColleenMail said........."She is back" !

Also at 0853 Dana reported that Right Spot (RB16) was once again at Sunset Beach. Shots from Karen F., and Joy S., confirmed the Right Spot ID.

Dana also advised that Diane G., Lesley & Karen T., once again did the Turtle Bay trek, and once again found Ua Malie (RT10) at High Rock, and La’akea (RK82) at Right Spot’s Spot, Kaihalulu Beach, TB.

In Yesterday’s News, pal Val sent shots of Pohaku’s boy RF28, and Rocky’s girl, RF58, on Kauai.
