April 13, 2025 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:45 am to 2:07 pm and we have another day of big news!
Near the waterline on the LPB surge channel was MO3 and PO3 (1 day old). They moved up as the tide rose. PO3 seems active and both mom and pup seem healthy.
About 100 feet away from MO3&PO3 and closer to the 1BS was a Sub-adult Male: sub-adult size, older coat, two red tags and a sandy male belly. She never got a really good view of him.
On the 3BS side of Middle Cliff was RF34 Pua with her new pup PO4! Both Mom and pup seem fine.
There was some activity and snoozing. It is possible the Pua has a hook/line on the right side of her mouth, but she couldn't be sure. RF34: female belly, two red tags, and scar on her right rear side.
There was a boat race today where the boats come around Rabbit Island and then go around the back of the island before returning. This race is one of the few times there are boats between Rabbit Island and shoreline.

Team R&B began their day at pokai.  They saw a seal foraging in the open ocean, and later it moved towards the jetty where there were about a dozen fishers.
That's when the seal pop out of the water up to his chest. They knew it was R3CX Nalu with a fish and fishing line. He tossed his head about, and they saw the fish fly out his mouth. They didn't see any line after that.  He appears to be okay.

At another west side location they found two seals on the rocks. One was Miss "blimpy" RH76 Kala in the company of her new beau RG28 Lefty.

Back at the outfall area they saw a seal foraging among the snorkelers, and swimmers. The seal had one red tag, cc scar and a bleach spot. This was enough for them to ID R3CU. He kept foraging and never hauled out.
For the 3rd day they saw a large pod of dolphins. They were jumping high in the air, making bubbles when they gathered together.  Always a joy to see.
