At 0656 I found Kea (RN46) snoozin’ in the small cove on the Sandy Beach side of the Blowhole Lookout. He was still there on my late afternoon check.
At 0718 I found RM38 once again up in the Morning Glory, 60 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. He would move down to cool off to the far left end at 0855, and would enter the water at 1142, when I lost him. He would haul out again fronting his starting point at 1221.
I was back and forth all morning on whether or not there was somebody in the 1st Cave. Finally, the suspect rock raised his head and looked my way, did a flipper flex, and I knew I had Kainoa (RN04) once again in the cave. By the way, today is Kainoa’s 1st Birthday !!!
At 1325 I found Kaiwi (RK96) at Toilet Bowl, Hanauma Bay.
Team Billand called at 0652 with the report of an overnighted Rocky (RH58) at Iroquois Point. Thanks to Trudy for Rocky shots.
At 0732 they reported Buster (RV08) on patrol along the beach front of White Plains. He would haul out fronting the Snack Shack at 0745. He would depart as they were putting up the SPZ.
Dana called at 1011 to advise that Jeannie had reported Right Spot (R016) at Gas Chambers, on the North Shore.
At 1226 Colleen called to advise that her friend had called her reporting animal near her house at Diamond Head. Heide called with the same report on the Hotline at 1231, but added the presence of transmitter on the animal. Colleen confirmed the Kermit (R012) ID at 1312. His last DH visit was on 1-20-12.
The Billands called to report a Hotline call about 2 animals at Lani’s , KoOlina. When they arrived they found Pohaku (RO28) at Secrets, and Benny (RE74) surrounded by his adoring hordes at Paradise Cove, at 1535. It sounded like the usual PC nightmare.
At 1716 Team Billand reported the arrival of Ewa Girl (RS00) to Wind Sock, joining Haupu, who moved up onto the beach from the reef.
The Billands reported M&M (R020) at White Plains at 1603.
Team Billand responded to a Hotline call at 1825 reporting T21M (ID by tag by caller), at the Shooting Range, Iroquois Pt. The animal was gone when they arrived at 1900. Foot prints running right by the wallow suggests he was run off.
Karen Rohter sent Meli (RF20) shots for your daily Meli fix.
Once again the Billands are working late. Check the blog in the morning for their day.
