3/28/2015 DB's Dailies: Kainoa@RI, DB RW02,Ka'ena&Luana@KP, Marilyn D., La'akea, R5AY&Ola@TB, Vera Cober, Nihoa@Maipalaoa, Team Billand

At 0720 I found Kainoa (RN04) snoozin’ at Right Middle Cliff, on Rabbit Island. He would be the only non-winged resident today, and the only SE quadrant find.

Marilyn & Petra trekked to The End of the World today. At Ka’ena Pt they found RW02&Ka’ena(RO40) together at the runway, and Luana (RN58) at the main pool.

The Cobers were doing Turtle Bay duty today, with R5AY&Ola. Vera checked in at 1020 to report La’akea (RK82) at Right Spot’s Spot, TB. Vera was concerned about stuff on Ola’s muzzle. My guess would be Sea Cumber yuck. It appears to be coming off in later shots. She also noted a natural bleach on Ola’s right side neck. I checked all the shots that have come my way and surprisingly, most of the shots are from the other side. Melanie’s shot from yesterday however, shows it quite clearly. Good eye Vera !!!

At 1233 Team Billand found Nihoa (R912) at the Maipalaoa Canal.

Last but not least, a few non-seal thoughts are required today. Team Billand, and my very first posse member, June Kawamata, officiated over their respective Whale Count sites, for the last count of 2015, and the last count for them, after a 20 year career in the whale biz. That is a truly amazing accomplishment. You know I say it all the time, but I’ve never meant it more... Ya’ Done Good !!! Congratulations to June and Team Billand.... you have much to be proud of.... I thank you and the whales thank you for taking the time and caring !!

ummm Melanie I probably could have gone through life not knowing that. LOL thanks for sharing. LOL

Then again it's always good to learn something new each day.... even if it's about sea cucumber butts.

Do you still have a mantis in your store? We have an egg case in the yard; I don't think anything has hatched yet.
