2-15-2012 DB Dailies: Nani@RI, Irma@WP, RO28@Maili Point, RI37@Laniakea, T15M@Trks, Kermit@KR

The Elves and I.... newly dubbed the "Kaiwi Klan" were out there in full force today, but alas having no luck at all. There was a very real danger that I was going to end the day being Skunktified, but on my afternoon recheck of Rabbit Island I found Nani (RK60), this year's Rabbit Island pup,now 9 months old, waiting for me to the left of the 1BS on RI , at 1402. She was the only SE quadrant find for today. How cute are all of you with you t-shirts..... any chance the blog lady can get one of those? maybe? someday?

At 0647 Team Billand checked in with the report of Irma (R010) who had overnighted fronting #1944, White Plains. She departed at 0856.

At 1337 the Billands found Pohaku (RO28) at Maili Point.

At 1405 Team Billand found T15M at Tracks.

Lastly, at 1537 they reported Kermit (R012) at Kermit's Reef, on the west side of the Nimitz Jetty.

Dana called at 1344 to advise that RI37 had been ID'd by tags at Laniakea.

In the Yesterday's News Department, posse member Kelly Girl, forwarded photos taken by Dave Ellis at the James Campbell NWR in Kahuku showing La'akea (RK82) at that location. Thank You Dave (& Kelly Girl) !

Dana fowarded photos from yesterday taken of a molting animal on the beach across the highway from Kualoa Ranch. Whisperer skills, my overactive Monachus gene, and concurrance from Tracy, all went in to the T21M ID.

Little Nani good to have you back home on Rabbit Island
 T21M @ Kualoa
Irma - geesh what a mitt
 Kermit @ Kermit's reef
umm Kermit your girl is at white plains
 RO28 Pohaku relaxing @ Maili
Sharkbite @ Tracks.... which came first ?  the seal or the swimmer?
 A brand new coat!

Good on you Kaiwi Klan! I wish we had this many dedicated voluteers for the rest of the seals on the island.

I second you on that Diane.
It was great to help train the new group of volunteers during Irma/Kaiwi nursing period with DB & Marilyn and to still see some of them out there on daily basis.
Miss seeing the other aunties from the first couple of months Alice, Barbara, Tammi,Sabrina,Cindy... & all our friends, dawn and afternoon dog walkers.
The same regarding the TB/Northshore team of volunteers.
Wonder what's up for all us this coming season ??
Aloha, Lesley
