It was the usual SE Quadrant trek beginning at 0615. It
would be 0845 before I found my first , and only critter. It was Buster (RV08)
snoozin' in the cove on he Sandy Beach side of the Blowhole Lookout. One of his
favorite hangouts. He had not been there on m 0730 check. At 0900 he had a
sneezing fit, and decided to enter the water. After one foraging dive of 10
minutes at Blowhole, he began a leisurely, but purposeful swim to the west. Once
he passed Eternity Beach (0910) and moved off toward Bamboo Ridge, I hurried
ahead to Lanai Lookout. Sure enough, at 0958 Buster arrived off shore of Lanai
Lookout and continued to forage. I lost him in the morning glare at 1000.
At 1218 posse member Gayle called to report an animal
hauled out in the Lanai Lookout cove, on the west side of the parking area.
When I arrived I found Buster (RV08) snoozin' in a hole in the rocks. This is
the same area that Kaiwi has been using of late. He has remained the rest of the
day.
Team Billand checked in at 1118 to report a 100% molted
T15M at the Kalaeloa Campgrounds.
At 1420 they called to report Irma (R010) fronting 1944
at White Plains.
Posse member Vera Cober did the Ka'ena Point trek
today. He first sighting came at 1420. She reported RB00 (Boo) , 15 minutes in
from the Waianae side trail head. Lest you forget, Boo is Rocky's daughter from
2007. Though basically a Kauai girl she is seen from time to time in the Ka'ena
Point area.
The Billands HotMail is actin' up again, so check da'
blog in the morning for Team Billand's day.
