2-11-2012 DB's Dailes: Rocky @ KK, T15M&Kermit@WP, Irma@EB

Despite many a mile on the Kaiwi Kuest, she was a no show again today.

The one and only SE quadrant find came at 0900 when I found Rocky (RH58) logging in the shallows off shore of Irma's Grotto, Kokee Flats, Portlock. She would do a leisurely swim , 300 yrds down the flats to the Kaiser Estate dock, and then move back toward the grotto. At a point approximately 100 to 150 ft left of the access path, she hauled out at 0958, and has remained there the rest of the day.

Team Billand called at 0727 to report T15M fronting #1706, White Plains. At 1115 they advised that he had entered the water, but at 1134 he hauled out down the beach, fronting #1943.
The Billands mentioned that the Cobers were there, so to them and any and all who served today.... Thank You.............Very Much !!!

At 1158 the Billands reported Kermit (R012) on the Ewa Beach side of the east end WP perimeter fence.

Dera called at 1100 with the report of Irma (R010) at Ewa Beach Park. The Billands advised that Clay Gates was responding.

We have been monitoring T15M for 17 days and for the first time, someone saw him go for a swim. And we were at KoOlina at the time, looking for a seal. Dera called to report, T15M LEFT his spot, heading to Diamond Head direction. We took off hoping to see T15M, JUST ONCE MORE. Well, as soon as we got there, T15M was now hauling up shore at the cabins further down...HE CAME BACK!!! And we learned, the guy in the photo with T15M, Larry Higgins, took care of the seal, and got him resigned for us. And other cabin volunteers also helped that we been talking to for 17 days. Larry is 78, he followed Sharkbite, all the way to plains surf beach, scolded some folks who threw stuff at the seal, seal turned around, headed back to the cabins. Larry was right there for Sharkbites new location. How proud we were, that our cabin volunteers, took care things in their own hands. Hugs to all of them!! AWESOME JOB GUYS and GALS. Team work goes along way. We helped the guys put up the ropes and signs and shook thier hands...so sweet huh?

Larry says he loves sharkbite and wishes he could take him back home.

And while we were roping off Sharkbite, I happened to take a look at White Plains area with my binocs and spotted a fat seal way down, passed the fence Line. I got some poles and ropes hurrying on foot to area. It was good old KERMIT. Snoozing his fat heart away. At this location, 4 X 4's camp out here, there are homeless..so as I was trying to fix a perimeter, this nice lady Susan, helped me out. Thank you susan, you are appreciated. And I called Dana for a trooper, VERA COBER and husband Glen and son ERIC came, took care of Kermit. THANKS TEAM!!!
It was a super great day for us and all those volunteers AND....our beloved seals...Kermit and Sharkbite.
By the way, I decided to make my usual sandi seals..this time a seal with a shark, at Sharkbites site. Maybe thats why he took off..he. he.
