The first
order of business was to check Kaiwi Cove, at 0600. KC was gone. I picked up the
signs and cones and continued the adventure.
A fisherman posse member
stopped me at 0729, on Poipu Dr, Portlock, to advise that he had just left the
Kokee Flats, and that he had seen N3 there. Sure enough, when I arrived at
Irma's Grotto at the end of the flats, I found Irma (R010) cruisin' in a tide
pool.
At 0730 posse member Teri
advised that she had an animal at Spitting Cave. When I arrived I found RIP
(RR70) doing 6 to 9 minute dives. Posse member Kathy later advised that RIP was
gone when she arrived at 0930. I did not see him again today.
Posse member Kelly Evans
called to advise that she had received word from Turtle Bay condo posse people,
that Right Spot (R016) was at Right Spot's Spot, Turtle Bay. ID was by N6
bleach.
Also at 1042 Kelly, advised
of an animal at Laniakea. Posse member Jen Christian called at 1300 to confirm
that it was RI37. Photos are on the way.
After a
long day of lots of lookin' and no findin', Team Billand called at 1413 to
report finding Pohaku (RO28) at Electric Beach.
i
At 1450
they found R018 at Maili Point. He had last been seen at Ka'ena Point by
Marilyn on Sunday.
Sean
forwarded an email the office had received from surfer Rich ,reporting that he
has been seeing a small animal from time to time, with a transmitter, in the
line up between Wailupe and Kawaikui Beach Prk. Since that is still Maunalua
Bay, it's very likely to be Kaiwi, but ???? The surf spots are well off shore in
that area.
That is not the end of the Kaiwi news. Posse member
Teri called at 1818 to advise that she was looking at Kaiwi (RK96) at Spitting
Cave. Her transmitter, and N19 bleach were visible. Kaiwi had last been seen at
Lanai Lookout on 2-13-12. Since then the girl has
been to Diamond Head waters and back.
