When I got back for my 2nd look at 0919 I found that RIP (RR70) was now at Seal Rock Inlet. At 1045 he would galumph over to join the boys. I am certain that RIP was also yesterday's U/M at RI. All three would remain together the rest of the day.
Team Billand had yet another , routine Billand day. It began at 0822 with their report of R018 at Tracks. At 0855 they found Irma (R010) at Wind Sock, Kalaeloa Beach. Irma would depart with the rising tide at 1300. At 0926 they checked in to report Ewa Girl (RS00), at Kalaeloa Campground. Kermit (R4DG), Max (R5EW) and Makaiwi (R4DF) were all waiting to say Hi at Palm Grove, Campbell Industrial Park when the Billands arrived at 1058. Noa (R6FI) was their next find in Maili Point at 1452. At 1522 on a recheck of R018 at Tracks, they found the R2AW had joined him.
Dera called with the report of an animal at Kaiser's , the small beach behind the Hilton Hawaiian Village lagoon. Only Buster and Rocky have ever hauled out there, so ???? Dera advised that volunteer Don, was responding.
I wasn't all that hot on the idea of driving into town, but when Barbara called to tell me that the radio said that traffic was stopped on Kalanianiole at Aina Koa St (where the freeway ends), due to a reported carjacking and multiple shots fired, it became a no brainer. As of this writing I've received no word, from any source concerning this animal. ??????
Team Billand responded to a Dera call at 1555 about an animal in Makaha. They found only a wallow on arrival.
