DB Post Sunday 5/10/2009

On my first look at Rabbit Island at 0637 I found Ewa Girl and pup snoozin' at the left end of the beach, Benny up at the base of the cliff to the left of 1BS, RIP was at 2BS, and Kolohe was crashed up in the vegetation 70 ft left of 3BS.

When I got back to Makai Pier at 1000, Ewa Girl and Pup were doing a tide pool session, and would later move up and spend the rest of the day just above the water line feedin' and snoozin'.

Benny would move down mid day to cool off, and is 65% molted.

RIP had moved to the water front rocks at the right end of the beach.

M38 made an appearance at mid day and was in full "cruiser male" mode, hauling out to join all other cast members. Ewa Girl made it abundantly clear that he was welcome in her neighborhood, and he got the hint. He harrassed Kolohe into the water and they did a play session, but I would not see Kolohe again after that. M38 visiting Benny briefly, and he and RIP did alittle talking back and forth. M38 backed off. When I departed the pier at 1600 all were in snooze mode.

A fisherman posse member called from Kalaeloa Campground at 1258 to report that Irma was at the "Last Bench" , at KCG. This is exactly her location on last Sunday when Kermit was captured. The Billands later confirmed the ID.

Brenda called at 1302 with the report of an animal in Ewa Beach. She called back at 1318 to confirm that it was 4DJ (T21M). Aloha, DB
