A Kermit free day.... I didn't think it was possible ! Thank you John Johnson for doing the morning check.
It was a bumper crop at Rabbit Island today. Of course Ewa Girl and kid were there , at the left end of the beach. They were doing a tide pool session when I arrived,at 0630, but moved up on the beach for the remainder of the day. They were not harrassed by any of the other cast. A tight grouping made up of Benny (60% molted), Sadie and RIP were together 40 ft left of the 1BS, back near the cliff. Both Sadie and RIP would move separately to the the 3BS area at the right end of beach, later in the day. Benny moved down, to cool off, and remained there the rest of the day.
At 0851 on a pan I found that Kolohe had arrived fronting the 3BS, and 30 ft to his right I found Buster, on the water front rocks. Buster would enter the water at 1214 and I did not see him again today. Both RIP and Sadie would relocate to join Kolohe at 3BS in the afternoon.
I became aware of a swimming head at around 1400. After near haul outs from left end to right end of the beach M38 finally hauled out at the right end and began moving toward RIP and Sadie. A bellowed suggestion from RIP that wasn't a good idea, stopped him 40 ft away. He would later haul out near Benny at !BS, but moved off 30 ft left and was still here when I departed at 1600.
Team Billand called at 0918 to report Irma at White Plains, and again at 1035 to report M&M at right side of the Nimitz Beach jetty, several hundred yds west of the jetty. Aloha, DB
