02/03/2020 Monday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand.

They started their day at the outfall at about 7 am. The seals came in and were foraging, and one stole fish. hmmmm wonder who that could be? Ka'ale RH32 did not disappoint.
There were two other seals one of them was ID'd as Aukai RL12. She was ID'd by a "ding" between her shoulders and the on hear head.
Kalani RN14 was also ID while foraging and then he took off with Aukai.
They both landed at 9 am at a beach close by.

Team Billand arrived at the beach where Aukai and Kalani were hauling out. When they arrived there were folks on shore and in the water, so they did their best to keep people away. Once Team Billand was able to talk with the people they were good about staying away.
Both seal landed and moved up shore. While restin Aukai heard something turned to Kalani, he looking back. Not sure if they were spooked but they both entered the water and took off towards the outfall. Team Billand called the hotline.

Team Billand left and headed to their west side location. When they arrived on site there were six seals, they were able to get the ID's on five of them but one of them was unfamiliar.
RL20 Kalua was on lower rocks.
RW02 PvKauai was by the playboy pond.
R3CX was on lower rocks alone with RG28 Lefty and Kekoa Alii RK72.
But the one seal that had them stumped turned out to be Holokai RG40. Needless to say Team Billand was surprised to see him and he is a big boy! His tags confirmed his ID especially since he doesn't have any real markers.

Final seal of the day was when they were heading home they cound RL42 Leia hidden at one of the westside haul outs.
