5-31-11 DB Dailies

At 0636 I found M&M (R020)and Pup, D#7, waiting for me at Seal Rock Inlet on Rabbit Island. They would move down and up with the tide, and remained all day. I observed 3 feeds and 2 water sessions with the kid galumphing down to frolick in the shore break as Mom watched from the beach, occasionally barking orders. All Moms are different, but I'm surprised that as of D#7 I haven't seen M&M doing water sessions with the kid. I'm sure she has her own way of doing things, so we shall see what the plan is. The kid appears to be eager for some action.

On my 0708 , Spitting Cave check I found Buster (RV08) doing 9 minute dives.   When I got back to Makai Pier at 0930 I found that Duke (RA12), and RIP (RR70) had joined the cast, lying together, on the water front rocks, 60 ft left of Seal Rock Inlet. There was minor interaction when they moved up with the tide. They remained all day.
Team Billand checked in at 0736 to report Irma (R020), once again at Wind Sock, Kalaeloa Beach. This is her 2nd overnighter at that location.   At 0755 they found Makaiwi (R4DF) fronting #1806 at Nimitz Cottages. My records show this to be her 34th day at NIM.  Team Billand found Max (R5EW) fronting #1775 at White Plains.

Dana called at 1050 with the report of an U/U at Laniakea. I've gotten no further word at this writing.

I tip my hat, and bow to them and top it off with a huge hug...

5-30-11 More Max

These great shots are courtesy Karen Bryan.... thanks Karen good to have you out on the beaches again. You been missed, but we know how busy you been with family, work and school. I am sure being out there amongst the crowds was well worth it to be near this cutey patootie.

5-30-11 DB Dailies Memorial Day

At 0637 on my first look at Rabbit Island, I found M&M (R020)w/Pup, on D#6, at Seal Rock Inlet. They would move down and up with the tide, and remained in that location all day.
Also at 0637 I found what would prove to be Kolohe (RW22) just moving down from the Morning Glory. When I got back to Makai Pier at 0830 he was tucked in behind the water front rocks, 60 ft left of Seal Rock Inlet. He too would remain the rest of the day. He galumphed to Seal Rock Inlet at 1136, passing Mom and the kid. Mom was watching but there was no interaction. Kolohe entered the water, and hauled out again minutes later, right back where he'd started. It's easy to see that he is very interested in the new kid on the block.
Team Billand checked in at 0652 to advise that Irma (R010) had overnighted at Wind Sock, Kalaeloa Beach. She would enter the water at 1020, and forage off shore, only to haul out again at WSK at 1125.  At 0706 the Billands found Makaiwi (R4DF), once again fronting #1806 at Nimitz Cottages.
At 0732 they found Max (R5EW) newly arrived at #1708, at White Plains.

Barbara rattled off lots of volunteer names on that side today. To one and all....Thank You...........Very Much !!! (anyone who knows all the volunteers give a shout out.... I would like to acknowledge them... I am sure it was a crazy time out on the beaches.... wish I didn't have to work, I would have been out there too).

5-29-11 Late Entries

Thanks to Kellygirl we got some late day shots of Right Spot at Turtle Bay from Sunday afternoon.

5-29-11 DB Dailies

M&M(R020) and Pup were waiting for me on my 0640, D#5 check of Rabbit Island. They were still at the Seal Rock Inlet location, and remained there all day, only moving down and up with the tide. I observed 2 feeds, and the kid was in the shore break on 2 occasions. At 1301, Kolohe (RW22) hauled out, 60 ft left of Seal Rock Inlet. He galumphed down to M&M's area, but maintained a 20 ft separation.  On my 0733 , Spitting Cave check I found Duke (RA12) doing 7 minute dives.

At 0723 Team Billand checked in with the report of Makaiwi (R4DF), fronting #1806, Nimitz Cottages. She would depart at 1605.  At 0954 the Billands found Max (R5EW) at Palm Grove, Campbell Industrial Park.   At 1033 they found Irma (R020) at Wind Sock, Kalaeloa Beach.

Team Kenyon did the Ka'ena Point trek today. They did not find CeeCee, but did report Ka'ena (RO40), Kerby (RW08), and Noa (R6FI) at the end of the world.

Dera called at 1036 with the report of "N6", Right Spot (R016) at the stables at the Turtle Bay Hotel. Posse member Kelly Evans confirmed the Right Spot ID at 1425.
Speaking of Kelly Evans, that is a prefect lead in to the "Yesterday's News" department. Kelly Evans sent photos from RI37's visit to Laniakea yesterday, hangin' out with the Honu. Lesley also provided photos of her find of Right Spot (R016) at Waialee Beach Park, on the North Shore yesterday.
