8/13/2014 DB's Dailies: Buster@BH&SB, Kainoa&Nani@RI, Kaiwi@CW, Duke@SC, Kolohe@GR&Maili Pt, Pohaku@Nanakuli, M&M,RIP@WP, Nihoa@PC, Rocky@DH

I was sitting at Blowhole on my 2nd look, when posse member Martha called with the report of somebody hauling out at the east end of Sandy Beach. I raced right down , of course, but only arrived in time to find Buster (RV08) do a coupla’ slow rolls in his favorite east end pond, and then begin his swim along the shore line back to the Half Point channel an out. Though I relocated back to Blowhole, and did multiple checks through the day, I did not see him again until Melanie called at 1502 with the report of an animal at the Blowhole end of Sandy Beach. I arrived at 1510, just in time to see that it was Buster again. We began putting up an SPZ however he was already beginning to move toward the water. He departed at 1523, swimming toward Blowhole. I relocated to BH and at 1545 found doing 7 minute dives.

 At 0953 I found Kainoa (RN04) fronting 1BS, and at 0956 as I panned right further found Nani (RK60) at Rocky Right Beach, on Rabbit Island.

Two bad guys were on the island from 1011 until 1126. During their explorations they passed both animals twice, but did not interact with either, though Kainoa did depart as they passed him at 1108. They did not appear to be aware of his presence. Kainoa would haul out again to Seal Rock Inlet at 1159. They were met by DOCARE Officers upon their arrival at Makai Pier at 1206.

 At 1323 Melanie called with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) at China Walls.

 At 1428 Melanie reported an U/U foraging at Spitting Cave. Afternoon glare made an ID impossible. One of Melanie’s shots confirmed the Duke (RA12) ID, by and amazing tag shot !

 At 0620 Team Billand reported Kolohe (RW22) at Maili Guard Rails. He would later relocate to Maili Point, and relocate once again back to Guard Rails.

 At 0700 the Billands found Pohaku (RO28) at Nanakuli.

 At 0728 they found M&M fronting the Surf Shack at White Plains. She would be joined by RIP (RR70) at 0905. Diane T., would report his departure at 1405. Thanks to Diane, George, Trudy & Shelly.

 At 1317 posse member Linda reported an animal at Paradise Cove. The Billands would confirm the Nihoa (R912) ID at 1412. Thanks to Linda, Mary Jo&hubby and Terry.

 Brandi called with a Hotline report of an animal at Cromwell’s (Diamond Head) at 1254. Colleen confirmed the Rocky (RH58) ID at 1420.

In the end I am glad DOCARE was able to greet these two... it just never ends
