A gathering place for Hawaiian Monk Seal Supporters & Professionals to talk story.
Report all Sightings to 808-220-7802 or email PIFSC.monksealsighting@noaa.gov
This morning a hotline call came in reporting a hooked seal down the Koko Head trail. As I was on my way out to do a Windward / TBR monitoring I did a quick plan change. After reporting the call I headed to the area, despite walking up and down several cliffs my only find was RN46 "Kea" foraging near Spitting Caves. The only company he had were big turtles doing up and down dives in the same area he was. Since Gail had seen him there earlier, and I watched him with binoculars thru the strong glare and the photos taken seemed to rule him off as the hooked seal. the arrival of another volunteer I left to check other spots. And found them all seal clear. Aloha,Lesley

I have been trying to fix the comment section that appear in the sidebar. Not sure if it's a programming issue or upgrade problem, either way comments will have to be viewed by looking at the individual post.
