Despite lots of mileage , it was a pretty thin day for
sightings. Posse member Gayle called at 0742 with the report of an animal at
Spitting Cave. When I arrived at 0810 I found that it was Buster (RV08). His
dive times were all over the place, and on a couple of occasions he simply
disappeared for 20 minutes or so, only to return. On the 0812 up he was munchin'
on an octopus. His 4 minute up while chewin' on the thing afforded ample photo
ops. The Elves staying there until past noon, but 1040 was the last Buster
sighting.
It was one small step for
man, but a giant leap for June ! She is one of those people with a fear of
heights, making Spitting Cave a sketchy place to be. On her previous visits she
stayed way back near the steps, but
today she rose above, and came down to hang out on the edge with the rest of the
Elves. Needless to say, she loved every minute of it.
Team Billand called at 0742
with the report of Mdcakaiwi (R4DE) on the Ewa Beach side of the east end fence
line at White Plains.
At 0817 they reported Kermit
(R012) foraging just off shore of Nimitz Cove on the west side of the Nimitz
Jetty. At 0840 he hauled out to that location .
Dera called at 1409 to
advise that intern Tatiana's friend had reported seeing "N6" (Right Spot) off
shore of Shark's Cove at 1330.
