4-16-2012 DB Dailies: Buster@SC&CW, Irma@KK, Kermit@NIM, 2AW&Makaiwi@White Plains

At 0728 we found Buster (RV08) doing 7 minute dives at Spitting Cave.

Marilyn and Gayle did the Kokee check and reported Irma (R010) in Irma's Grotto at 0831.

Gayle told me that Buster had departed SC at 0950, and I decided to check China Walls, at 1030. Sure enough I found him, newly hauled out behind the house next door to CW.
Team Cober (Vera & Glenn) had a busy little day. Vera called at 1031 with the report of Kermit (R012) hauling out at Nimitz Cottages.

At 1251 Vera checked in again with the report of 2AW at White Plains.
At 1400 Vera called again with word that Makaiwi (R4DE) had arrived at Kalaeloa Campgrounds.
Vera checked in again at 1638 to say that she had just spoken with Clay Gates who advised that Rocky (RH58) had just arrived at Iroquois Point.

Kaiwi Klan posse member Teri called at 1755 to report that she was with Kaiwi (RK96) at Spitting Cave.
Teri called again at 1809 to report a 2nd animal at Spitting Cave. She could not ID the animal but said that it was large. Since both Irma and Buster were in the area, I could well be either one.

There are some incredible people that came to the rescue the week that Barbara & Robert were gone. You all did an important job. First of all thank you to Vera who did daily treks (while sick) every single day. She took Ewa to Ko'olina and I did the Waianae side to Makua/Yokohama. Just think the Billands do that every day.....Then Glen Cober also pitched in on his days off to assist and boy did he ever. Then there is Debbie Berkstrom that not only did Makaha, but had two seals in one day. She was called on several days this last week to look after critters, and always went, and never complained. Thank you Debbie. Thank you to Wayne (Willie)Williamson who, jumped down to White Plains (3rd seal showing up) to be with Makaiwi on a busy and tense Sunday afternoon. There were a lot of ill people on the volunteer list, so our numbers out there were very limited. These stalwart people took on the Westside with determination and fortitude. Never complained and always came through with great reports and information. Thank you all.
