4-13-2012 DB Dailies:Irma @ HB, Makaiwi @ Shark's Cove

On my 0620, 1st check of Hanauma Bay, I found Irma (R010) snoozin' on the beach toward the left end. I got her cordoned off, and she has remained all day. "Jack at the Bay" was at the rope line, in his plastic throne, all day, keeping her adoring hordes back, and catering to Irma's every need. Thanks Jack.... Ya' Done Good (as always!) The man is worth his weight in Guiness ! Irma departed of her own volition at 1712.

Vera Cober checked in at 1015 to advise that she had covered the SW and W quadrants, and found nobody. Thank you Vera for being there , even with your flu ravaged body . Vera!!! please take care of yourself.... pupping season is right around the corner!  Seriously going out there with the flu is above and beyond!

Barbara (Team Billand) called from Las Vegas at 0900 to report that they'd gotten a call from one of their posse, Officer Ing, reporting "4DE" at Shark's Cove. I contacted Dera at 0902, and she in turn was going to call Dana, to mount a response. I've gotten no further word on this event. Hopefully, there will be more info. Makaiwi (R4DE) was last seen on Oahu at White Plains (Billands) on 2-23-12, and has never been reported on the North Shore before. A 1609 call from Dera indicated that there had been no known response. Sad ! Well hopefully if it was Maka'iwi she'll pop up again, perhaps she is waiting for Team Billand to return, knowing how disappointed they would be missing her.

I love that DB is observing this scene from above...it's like the seal whisperer is checking in on his posse... everything looks good and he's able to continue his search for others. But seems today was a bust.
