11/19/2010 DB Dailies

At 0650 I would find Sam at the left end, and Buster on the right end of the beach on Rabbit Island. Both would remain all day. There is an interesting sub-plot to the Buster side of the story. I got a call from Dera this morning advising that a spear fisherman had reported (1800) seeing an animal with a "V09" tag, in the water between the Kahala Hilton (or whatever they call it now), and Black Point. That , of course, is Buster's RHF tag. This morning he was back on RI at 0650. Amazing !!!

When I got back to Makai Pier at 0930 I found that Sam had moved down, and that Buster and Duke were now together near the water line, 80 ft right of 3BS. Sam would enter the water at 1009.

At 1017 Kolohe would haul out to Seal Rock Inlet at the right end of the beach, and galumph over to join
Duke and Buster. After interaction all 3 would enter the water together for a swim/play session at 1054. I go occasional glimpses of them playing in the water.

At 1233, RIP hauled out to Seal Rock Inlet. At 1252 RIP alerted to something in the water at RI that I could not see. He hurriedly entered the water. It turned out that the entire cast was in the water. At some point Buster was dumped from the game by RIP, and he did a partial haul out, by himself at 3BS. He entered the water shortly thereafter and I did not see him again today.

At some point I became aware that all of the remaining cast, including Sam were playing, ranging from SRI to 1BS. At 1331 Sam hauled out left of 2BS, by himself, and remained there the rest of the day. RIP,Duke and Kolohe hauled out together to 3BS at 1340 and remained there the rest of the day.

At 1353 Makapuu lifeguard , Steve called to report that an animal was just hauling out to the left end of Makapuu Beach, at the base of the hill leading to the beach. It could not be a worse location. When I arrived at 1401 I found Irma. She had hauled out to the right end just 10 days ago (11-9-10). I got her cordoned off and she has remained the rest of the afternoon. I picked up the rope and left the signs at 1830. Irma remains. Good Luck Irma !
Team Billand called at 0841 to report 2AW at Tracks.

At 1111 they called to report Kermit at Kermit's Reef, on the west side of the Nimitz jetty. Also on that call they advised that posse member Clay Gates had called them with the report of Rocky at Iroquois Point, and also advised that they were responding to White Plains for the report of an animal at the east end perimeter fence. They called back at 1125 to confirm the Benny ID on the WP animal.
