Who knew when the mayflower was sailing the high seas, they passed by a couple of monk seals...
Wishing all of you and your families a very happy thanksgiving.

Happy thanksgiving to all!! I am thankful to Donna and her Blog, for letting us voice our concerns, for letting us post our photos for all to see, how magnificent our STATE MAMMAL is!
Grateful to DB and Marylin who dedicate their lives to the seals and bring us detailed reports and photos of the seals on Rabbit Island and Kaena Pt. Grateful to the volunteers who sit with seals in the hot sun, to protect them from harm. Most thankful I have Robert at my side to walk the beaches every day, looking for seals, roping them off, putting out signs and educating the public. I am thankful he puts up with all my worries, fears, the long hours out on the beaches, from sun rise to sunsets. I know it isnt easy at times, but, we both continue to defend all our seals, rain or shine. I appreciate all the people we meet daily, who respect our work, to the base police at White Plains, the lifeguards, THE FENCELINE CREW at WhitePlains who are there for us when need be, who also protect our seals and call us out when seals come a shore. Thankful to the Janitor, John at White Plains who is a good man to call us if he sees a seal while working. The Manitenance guy who saw the Lay Gill net and brought it to our attention. I also want to thank the Marine Mammal Center for saving KP2, To all our NOAA officials, TO Tracy Wurth, Dera Look, Brenda Becker, Schofield, Thea, to Jeff Walters, to the Bleach Boys who bleach our seals, you are awesome. To Eric Tong who is very good in handling our seals and has such great spirit, To our Humpback whale friends we've worked with for 15 years. And we thank the DOCARE and DNLR officers we come in contact with..for those that DID SOMETHING to help our seals. To the fishermen who are respectful when the seal is present..THanks. Oh my gosh, I can go on and on...I'll end my novel..oh wait...TO THE CABIN PEOPLE WE MET and also helped in protecting our seals....You are so appreciated!!!! God bless you all...and TO OUR BELOVED SEALS...WE LOVE YOU AND APPRECIATE each and everyone of you sweet souls. If I missed any one, I'm sorry, but you know you are important, PERIOD!!!
