DB Post Friday 8/7/2009

It was an 8 critter day at Rabbit Island. For those of you that don't know, the record is 10.

Ewa Girl, RIP and M38 where at the left end of the beach, and would later be joined by Sadie who had been hiding back near the cliff, behind a sand mound covered in Morning Glory. M38 would leave mid morning to begin his "cruiser male " day, hauling out to every other cast member, and being a big pain in the flippers.

The rest of the cast, as I panned to the right, was down at the 3BS and further right. Buster was on the water front rocks fronting 3BS, Mikala was lounging on her back in a tide pool, and partially visible. Then came came Duke who has discovered that moving up into the Morning Glory is a good place to be for alittle peace and quiet, and finally Kolohe was newly hauled out straight down from Duke.

Simply having a cast of 8 is great enough, but the really wonderful part was watching Mikala and Duke interact with each other, and also their having to deal with interactions with M38, Buster, and Kolohe. I was hoping that they would get more quality time with Buster, but M38 managed to run him off in the afternoon. The weaners did get to spend quality time with Kolohe however, which is the next best thing. He is small enough to be able to deal with, and he can teach them a lot.
