DB Post (cont) Ka'ena Point

Seen Kerby W08/W09, from the day he was born, just hours after birth. On that day Kerby got entangled with the placenta stuck between two rocks preventing him to haul up with Ewa Girl. DB called NOAA, they came and cut the seal free. In March 09 Kerby got hooked and days later, found and dehooked on R.I. Since July Kerby once again is hooked. Been trying to find him, I wanted to see for myself how Kerby is doing. Well, after many searches at Kaena Pt, Kerby was finally found. He seems to act normal, no swelling was seen, no blood, he was fine and in snooze mode with Kaena 040/041. I sat there, wishing, hoping NOAA could do something, now that he was found again. But it was not a good area for dehooking and sadly, Kerby had to endure that big ass hook still. It hurt to see that sweet seal, hook snuggly at his mouth and the wire leader dangling. If only Kerby would go back to R.I. where NOAA can do this dehooking. To also see BG in heavy duty molt was awesome. To see Kaena with Kerby side by side as BEST FRIENDS ...SWEET. ANd then to see good ole YODA...wow. He certainly is an old gun fighter, with old skin and funny old jowl. I can not explain how I so enjoy Kaena Pt and all its beauty with seals, dolphins, birds, and not to mention Blazing Hot Sun!! Good luck little Kerby, I hope one day soon, you will be freed from that hook. My prayers are with ya kid.
