At 0944 Marilyn reported Cass (RG06) , once again at China Walls. On Melanie’s afternoon check she was no longer there.
The Lanai Lookout day began with a text from diver posse member Paul Hasley, advising that he’d seen an unknown animal swimming east on his first dive, at 1136. At 1153 Paul reported in again advising that an animal had hauled out to the left side flats at LL. Marilyn confirmed the Kolohe (RW22) ID at 1339. He was still there on Melanie’s afternoon pass.
Speaking of Kolohe, I came across a piece of video on Instagram showing him taking advantage of an underwater air pocket.

At 0843 Team Billand reporting finding the injured seal that has been seen on the west side the last couple of days. There was a NOAA presence all day, monitoring the animal who remained off shore. Charles was able to do an initial assessment. There will no doubt be official word on the NOAA Monk Seal Rearch Program, Facebook site soon. Stay tuned. Aukai (RL12) would hang out with the injured animal for a while but ultimately departed.
Karen Turner sent along excellent shots of Lei Ola (RH48) at Turtle Bay today.
