5/27/2014 DBs Dailies:Aukai,Kainoa,Nani,M38&Pua@RI, Kolohe&RI37@Secrets, U/M&La'akea@Sunset, Meli@TB, Temp401&Kerby@KP

From the Makapuu Overview, at 0649 I found what would prove to Aukai (RL12), 60 ft left of Seal Rock Inlet on Rabbit Island.

When I got to Makai Pier at 0706 I added Kainoa (RN04) at Seal Rock Inlet to the cast.

At 1007 Nani (RK60) hauled out 60 ft left of Seal Rock Inlet.

At 1012 Pua (RF34), the weaner hauled out to the left end rock flats.

M38 would haul out to join Nani at 1218 and would chase her down the water front rocks until all 4 of the beach animals were in a group where they would spend the rest of the day.

At 0724 Team Billand reported that Kolohe & RI37 had overnighted at Secrets, KoOlina.

At 1623 the Billands called to advise that Kolohe & RI37 had departed. Witnesses said they departed between 1430 & 1500. The Billands arrived to find the animals gone and the “Keep Out” sign thrown in the water.

Dana called at 0945 to advise that Joy Silver had reported an animal at Gas Chambers on the North Shore, which is next to Sunset Beach. Photos were inconclusive except to say that it was an U/M.

Dana also advised that Meli (RF20) was seen at the elbow, Kaihalulu Beach, TB.

Ocean Safety called at 1055 to advise that a second animal had arrived at Sunset. Dana called at 1300 to advise that it was La’akea (RK82) by tag. This marks the first La’akea sighting outside of the greater Turtle Bay area.

Kimo Smith did the Ka’ena Point trek after work and reported Temp401 & Kerby (RW08) at the end of the world.
