6-10-2013 DB's Dailies: Kainoa&RM38@RI, Kaiwi@BF, Buster@SC&SB, KC@Malaekahana, RIP@KCG, Kaikaina&La'akea@ TB

At 0615 I found Kaiwi (RK96) once again on Buster Flats, east of Lanai Lookout. I also finally met Cianna, a NOAA intern. This was D#4 of this stay. I'm happy to report that Gayle reported that she was gone on her 1628 check.

At 0720 Marilyn & Kimo reported Buster (RV08) at Spitting Cave. Buster was to pop up again with a call from Ocean Safety reporting and animal at Sandy Beach at 1232. When I arrived at 1240 I confirmed the Buster ID, and cordoned him off. He has remained the rest of the day. Buster departed at 1845.
At 0900 I found RM38 snoozin' on the water front rocks of Seal Rock Inlet on Rabbit Island.

At 1342 I found Kainoa (RN04) newly hauled out amongst the Kainoa sized rocks fronting 1BS on RI. He would be joined briefly by M38 at 1406. M38 would later relocate to Seal Rock Inlet, and Kainoa moved up to the Morning Glory.

Unfortunately they did not have RI to themselve. At 1332 returning from the Sandy Beach call, I found a blue kayak with a male and female aboard, already on RI, just right of 3BS. Of course DOCARE was called and thankfully they were met by an officer on their return to Makai Pier at 1455.

At 0900 Dera called with word of "N14", KC (RK28) at Malaekahana.

Team Billand put in many a mile following RIP on is cruise up and down the coast line. He would finally haul out to Kalaeloa Campground at 1019, but departed around 1433 to check his territory once again, but returning to KCG at 1623.

Lesley checked in at 1313 to advise that she and Diane did the Turtle Bay area recon today and happily found Kaikaina (RL54) and La'akea (RK82) at Elbow Beach, Turtle Bay.

Last but not least, Kekoa (RK72) turns 2 years old today. !!! wooooo hoooo!  Kekoa... now you have a little sibling... ummm brother? or sister? we'll have to wait and see!

so what is it about stay off the island they don't understand?
