6-7-2013 DB's Dailies: Kainoa&Kolohe@RI, Kaiwi&Buster@SC, Kaiwi&RK36@BF, Kermit@KR, M&M&RIP@KCG, U/U@DH, Ua Malie&La'akea@TB, RL42&Kerby@KP

My first pass through the SE quadrant was in the process of being a bust when Gayle called at 0733 with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) and Buster (RV08) at Spitting Cave. They had just gone around the corner, headed east, when I got to SC, but Buster returned and was last seen heading more into Maunaloa Bay. Despite many a check of the Portlock spots, I did not see him again today.

It may be totally unrelated but Lesley called at 1328 to advise that her friend , Julia was monitoring an U/U, swimming seal at Diamond Head. I can't prove it , of course, but I'd put a cat on Buster. Julia only had time for a single shot since the animal was run off by adoring fans. The shot is inconclusive. hmmmmm speaking of Diamond head.... Rocky must be on her way to Kauai... or there...

At 1056 on my 2nd look at Rabbit Island I found Kolohe (RW22) at Seal Rock Inlet. He would remain all day.

At 1122 Kainoa (RN04) hauled out, 80 ft right of 1BS on RI. He too would remain all day.
Gayle called at 1208 with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) at Buster Flats, on the east side of Lanai Lookout.

She would call again at 1304 to advise that RK36 had just hauled out to join her.
Team Billand called at 0800 to report Kermit (R012) at Kermit's Reef. He would later (1356) relocate beyond the bunkers to the west of Nimitz Jetty.

At 0859 they reported M&M (R020) at Kalaeloa Campgrounds.

At 1044 they advised that RIP (RR70) had hauled out to join M&M.
Late afternoon email from Karen Turner brought word that she had see Ua Malie (RT10) and La'akea (RK82) at Turtle Bay today.

Kimo called at 1835 to report that he had hiked to the end of the world after work, and found RL42 and Kerby (RW08) together at the main pool, Ka'ena Point.

The following series is of MM and Rip.... I could try to come up with my usual silly comments but sometimes the pictures just speak for themselves... although there is one reaction I will say "seal pretzel" you be the judge which photo it applies too. :-)
