10-27-11 DB and More

Marilyn found Kaiwi (RK96) in her tide pool, 150 ft east of the AD wall at 0600. She would depart the tide pool at 0630, and move east, stopping at the "benny battle" tide pool, and was last seen out at the surf break, 300 yds east of the wall at 0709. Despite lots of trudging the beaches, by myself, Zeenat and Sabrina, it would be 1045 before Kaiwi was seen again.
Dera called at 1045 to advise that a small animal with a transmitter had been reported at "Pohakus", better known to regular readers as "Crappy Cove", the rubble cove at the back entrance to Sandy Beach. When I arrived at 1051 the caller as well as another of my posse , reported that Kaiwi had been there for an hour and a half, but had just departed.
Posse member Michele and I searched the cove, and thanks to a bus load of school kids we found her at the east end of the cove, just hauling out to some rocks. She would remain there until 1326, when Dera reported that she was on the move.
Dera went west and I went east, but neither of us had any luck. Enter posse member Gayle, who seems to have the magic touch. For the 3rd day in a row, she called to report Kaiwi once again at the rocks 200 yds west of the AD wall, at Irma's. This is the 3rd day she has hauled out there, and also the 3rd day that Gayle found her. She was still snoozin' on the rocks when I departed this evening at 1830.
Kaiwi took all of my day , but I did manage to get a couple of quick looks at Rabbit Island. The cast for today was Nani (RK60) at Seal Rock Inlet, and Duke (RA12) 50 ft right of Seal Rock Inlet.
Dana called at 0924 to advise that Right Spot (R016) had been reported at Right Spot's spot. Karen Turner provided the photo confirmation.
Team Billand found Benny (RE74) at Campbell Industrial Park at 1206. He would depart at 1249.
Dera reported an interesting tidbit. Eileen, our Reef Runway security posse member had not seen Kekoa since 10-11-11, however he was reported by DAR divers yesterday, in 70 ft of water, off shore of Ala Moana Beach Park. The boy is on the move. Seems we have a case of the wandering weaners.... funny how all three are on the run.... Nani has stayed pretty close to Rabbit Island..... then again she has her buddies to hang out and play with.

Kaiwi on the move today...
Kaiwi RK96 not only went to Sandy Beach today, but hauled out @ Irma's
 Duke @ Rabbit Island
 Right Spot @ Turtle Bay
Good ole' Benny Boy @ Campbells
