I'd like to give credit to Tony Querubin for finding La'akea and setting up the SPZ for her. Alos for dealing with the "Teddy Bear Man" for running La'akea off when she first hauled out.
I know he had to trek back to the Keiki Pool to grab signs and that can be exhausting in the hot sun.
I think first on the spot at Turtle Bay is the hardest because now with La'akea on the move you just never know where she is going to be.
Then I'd like to thank Kimo for partnering up with me and standing guard high on the hill above La'akea where we camped out and could see Right Spot and La'akea at the same time.
It was great that I had the seal mobile/bike because when we saw people approaching Right Spot I could get on the bike an be there in a few short minutes to educate people. But of course by the time the people made it to La'akea they forgot what I said about keeping there voices down and not approaching to close.
Anyways Kimo also watched over La'akea while I went to take down the birthing fencing and then on to SPZ3 to take down what was left of that, until Vera arrive with her husband.
Can't imagine where La'akea will go next. Kind of exciting but like I said the first one there has the hardest job!
Just another great seal day in paradise:)
