10-14-11 Ka Iwi Cruising the Shoreline

I was out at the beach today watching over Ka Iwi. There was a great group of Aunties watching over her today, when I arrived Sabrina, Gayle, and June were sitting watch. After Sabrina left and well into my shift Auntie Alice stopped by to check in with us.... I enjoyed seeing all of the aunties as much as watching over Ka Iwi.  Camp Irma has changed since she has been on the move.... Ka Iwi travels the shore line from the point toward Makapuu to the west side closest to the parking lot.  She spent most of her time in the tide pools or snoozing on the flats.  June captured some great shots of her climbing over the flats and snoozing in the shallows. ~da blog lady~

she makes her way up onto the flats
taking a little nap
Can't a girl get her rest?
When I first arrived she was relaxing on the flats... here she's waking up and having a little stretch

 Now she's on the move
tasting the water, or going for a mouthful of seaweed
 Swimming along the shore line
Rolling and chewing on a snack
