HMSRTO Is Honored by Punahou First Graders

Aloha Good People,
The Hawaiian Monk Seal Response Team Oahu (HMSRTO) was honored to receive a donation from Ms. Van Dyke's Punahou first grade class.  It all started with Punahou's Sustainability Fair this past April, we were invited to set up a booth. During the course of that day we talked with students from first graders to high school students.... I personally was amazed as to how many of them knew about the monk seals.

Well several weeks after the fair this first grade class were involved in growing a garden and selling their plants. When Ms. Van Dyke asked where they would like to donate the money, they chose HMSRTO. How cool is that!  Colleen, Liz and I went to the school and gave them a presentation and some handouts and they presented us with a check.

We promised that we would use these funds to help spread the word about the Hawaiian Monk Seals and protecting them.  We were so touched.... and sincerely impressed!
