10/29/2016 In Addition: Right Spot at Pyramid Rock MCBH

Thank you Luis Lusi for sharing your Right Spot photos... nice to see her on the east side.... These photos came in too late to make the dailies....  looks like she might be starting her molt

10/29/2016 DB's Dailies: Kekoa,Kawena&UM@Rabbit Island, Buster&Kaiwi@Diamond Head, Holokai@Turtle Bay, Pohaku@Campbell Industrial Park, Kerby&Benny@Maili Point, RW02,Ka'ena&RL04@Ka'ena Point,

It was a pretty junk day for Rabbit Island observations, but 3 critters showed up so the game was on. At 0800 I found a 95% molted Kekoa (RK72) at 1BS. He would later relocate to Seal Rock Inlet.

After a lengthy rain episode I looked into the scope and found that Kekoa had been joined by a small, new coated male, with 2 red tags. I could never make an ID. Maybe tomorrow.

On a pan at 1137 I found Kawena (RH36) just hauling out right of 1BS. She would galumph up and into the Morning Glory where she remained the rest of the day.

At 0936 Team Billand reported a foraging Pohaku (RO28) doing 5 min dives off shore of Campbell Industrial Park.

A Colleen text at 0956 advised that she had Buster (RV08) below the 2nd lookout at Diamond Head. She also advised that Kaiwi (RK96) had also been at DH today but in a different location.

Gina Walker sent shots from her visit with a molting Holokai (RG40) at the Keiki Pool, Turtle Bay. Thank you Gina !

Marilyn was flying solo on her End of the World trek today. She went in from the west side. At 0906 she found RW02 at the main pool, and Ka’ena (RO40) on the back beach.

At 0940 she reported an RL04 tag on an unfamiliar female. It would take some time and delving but it turned out that it was a 4 y.o. female from Molokai. She was not a new find as it turned out. She had been seen on 3-29-16 by Tammy&Mr. T, also at KP. A scar across the top of her head seems to be the most visible marker.

At 1059 Team Billand reported Kerby (RW08) at Maili Point. He would be joined by the Benny (RE74) at 1307.

10/28/2016 DB's Dailies: Kolohe&Kekoa!Rabbit Island, R8HE@L#4, KoOlina, Kerby&Benny@Maili Pt, Pohaku@CIP, Holokai&Ua Malie@Turtle Bay,

When I arrived at Makai Pier at 0753 I found Kolohe (RW22) in the Morning Glory fronting 1BS on Rabbit Island.

Also at 0753 as I panned to the righ end of the beach, I found Kekoa (R72) in the vegetation line, 80 ft right of 3BS. He would later move down and relocate to the far left (west ) end of the beach where he remained the rest of the day.

At 0700 Team Billand reported R8HE in Lagoon #4, KoOlina.

At 1050 the Billands found Kerby (RW08) at Maili Point. He would be joined by Benny (RE74) at 1242. A bit of new news came to light with this haul out. Apparently, Benny gained an RE41 tag while in the shop for repairs .

At 1330 Team Billand found a foraging animal off shore of Campbell Industrial Park. At 1433 they confirmed the Pohaku (RO28) ID. She was doing consistent 6 min dives.

Carola Johnston spent quality time with Ua Malie (RT10) at the Elbow, and Holokai (RG40) at the Keiki Pool, Turtle Bay.
