Barbara had made this memorial at white plains for all the seals that are gone... especially the ones that spent their time there.  What is amazing is nature is nurturing this heart by growing plants within the heart.... once again the power of nature leaves me in awe.

10/4/2016 DB's Dailies: Kolohe@Lanai Lookout, Kekoa@Maili Pt, RW02@30Min, Pohaku@Nanakuli, Ka'ena@Ka'ena Pt, RW02 & Kerby@20Min

Rabbit Island was Monk Seal free today. The NOAA gang went out and patiently waited for the arrival of the unknown J/F, but of course she never showed, nor did anyone else.

 Kolohe (RW22) saved the day. I found him in his usual spot on the Lanai Lookout Flats at 1439.

 At 0834 Team Billand reported Kekoa (RK72) at Maili Point.

 At 1022 Barbara reported RW02 at the 30Min mark on the KP trail. He would depart at 1032.

 At 1136 Robert called to advise that Pohaku (RO28) was at Nanakuli.

 Barbara found Ka’ena (RO40) at Ka’ena Point at 1155.

 On her way back she found RW02 & Kerby (RW08) at the 20Min mark.

 Came across a YouTube piece from yesterday showing Benny with line and a possible hook. Mahalos to Scuba Chris. Awaiting further word. Does anyone know where this happened?  the video doesn't mention a location. It would be nice to have the community helping to look out for him.

HMMA Update from October 3rd

At 0915 a seal was reported at Paradise Cove. Seal was ID'ed as Pohaku (RO28). Molly responded and reported pohaku's departure around 1530. At 1244 Jeannie checked in with a report of Lei Ola (RH48) at the Keiki Pool. Don checked in at 1533 to report Lei Ola was still within her zone. At 1318 a report came in about an unknown seal swimming near White Plains Beach. There is no further word at this time.

10/3/2016 DB's Dailies: RG32, Kawena & J/F @ Rabbit Island, Pohaku@Paradise Cove , 2 UU foragers CIP, Kekoa@ Maili Pt, RL42@Makua Cliffs, Ka'ale & RW02@20MIN,

The Rabbit Island day began at 0800. I found a 75% molted RG32 snoozin’ in the tall grass. He would later move down for the day.

 On one of tons of pans of the island, at 1040 I noticed a rock worthy of notice. Many pans later at 1140 the rock moved up at Rocky Right Beach. The rock had an N36 bleach on it’s left side. I’m happy to say I had Kawena (RH36) for another day.

 At 1253 the same J/F of the last few days, hauled out fronting 1BS and moved up for a snooze. Hopefully, NOAA folk can get out there tomorrow .

 Team Billand checked in at 0800 reporting 2 and maybe even 3 animals foraging off shore of Campbell Industrial Park. No ID could be gotten.

 At 0955 they reported Kekoa (RK72) once again at Maili Point.

 At 1201 the Billands next call reported RL42 at Makua Cliffs. Barbara found Ka’ale (RH32) & RW02 at the 20 Min mark on the west side KP Trail, at 1232.

 Once again Yahoo hates the Billands, and I can’t get there stuff. Check the blog in the morning for their day.

HMMA Update from October 2nd

At 0625 a report came in about a seal at Paradise Cove. Barbara would ID Pohaku (RO28). Warren responded. Later on Larry checked in at 1555 reporting her departure. At 1122 Karen T. reported Lei Ola (RH48) at the Keiki Pool. At 1357 Cara and Brittany checked in from Kaena Point to report an unknown male with a broken tags. They later confirmed seeing an "O," after reviewing photos the seal was determined to be Kaena (RO40). At 1606 a report came in about a seal at Sandy's in the tide pool area. Marilyn responded and confirmed the Buster (RV08) ID.
