At 0742 I found Sadie (RB12)&Kainoa (RN04), 40 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. They would both enter the water a 1111. I did not see Sadie again, however Kainoa would haul out again at 1205, and remained the rest of the day.

 On a pan at 1033 I found Aukai (RL12) just hauling out 80 ft right of 3BS. She too remained the rest of the day.

 Marilyn & Lesley did their customary trek to the End of the World today. At 0814 they reported a 65% molted Kimo Kai (RT12), once again at 10 min beach on the way in. At the point of Ka’ena Point they found RIP (RR70),Ka’ena (RO40), Temp319, R330 (Squinty) & RL42.

 The Billands called at 1015 to advise that posse member Lanny had reported Benny (RE74) swimming by Nimitz Beach, headed for White Plains. The lifeguards there advised that he checked the beach for chicks but continue his hunt.

At 1130 he hauled out to a tide pool at Nimitz Beach. At 1041 Ocean Safety called with the report of an animal at “Kammies’, Sunset Beach.

At 1132 Jeannie Martinson reported that it was 2 animals. Once again it was said to be RK36 & an U/U. The photo was inconclusive.

 A series of texts from Gina Walker, who was on pup duty at Turtle Bay today, advised of Ua(RT10) & Holokai at the birth beach, Ola (RG03) at her birth beach, and La’akea (RK82) at Right Spot’s Spot , and what would prove to be Right Spot (R016) at the hotel beach. Excellent ID photos, Gina !!

On my first look at Rabbit Island, at 0633 I found Sadie (RB12), 100 ft left of 1BS, and Aukai (RL12) & Kainoa (RN04) together, at the log, 40 ft left of 1BS.

 At 1111 weaner Cass (RG06) swam by, and Kainoa joined her for an extended swim/play session. They were still in the water when I departed for my afternoon rechecks. I returned to Makai Pier at 1700, and found Cass at the left end of the beach, and an U/U 100 ft left of 1BS. Aukai was still where she had been all day, and I found a juvenile male at 2BS. No ID was possible, but I’m hopeful that it is Kea.

 Posse member Barbara V called at 1253 to advise that she had seen an animal haul out to Buster Flats, Lanai Lookout, at 1235. When I arrived at 1300 I confirmed the Kolohe (RW22) but that beautiful right side “cue ball” bleach.

 At 0833 Team Billand reported Kekoa (RK72), once again at Maili Point.

 Emails from Jeannie Martinson & Karen Turner, provided shots of RK36 (ID by tag, 4DJ)& an U/U at Gas Chambers, North Shore.

 In the Yesterday’s News department I’m attaching Tracy Mercer’s shots from Molokai, of Kerby (RW08), and the cutest weaner ever, RG32), on 7-29-15.

 Evening mail from our pal Val, newly returned to civilization after roaming the mainland. She sent the latest Rocky (RH58)& Pup shots. Thanks Val, and welcome home !
