On my 2nd attempt at Rabbit Island observations at 0857 I found that Kainoa (RN04) had returned home. His new bling was clearly visible. I immediately contacted Mark Sullivan with the news. They definitely want their camera/transmitter back. Based on the conditions, NOAA personnel opted out. Maybe tomorrow.
During the down pours of the morning, an animal hauled out fronting 1BS on RI. I could barely even see the island. Later in the day when I returned for an afternoon session ate 1230, I could just make out a sliver of a probable juvenile animal back against the cliff, behind the dune, left of 1BS. No hope of an ID. Once again, maybe tomorrow.
At 0610 Team Billand called with the report of a probable overnighted Benny (RE74) at Secrets.
At 0944 they would report RK36 at Nanakuli Beach Park.
At 1025 the Billands found RIP (RR70), RW02 & Kerby at Nanakai Beach Park.
At 1224 Team Billand reported Kolohe (RW22) & RN14 at Maili, showing off their nearly matching right side “cue ball” bleaches.
At 1220 they reported the arrival of Kekoa (RK72 to Nanakai Beach Park.
At 1414 the Billands reported Pohaku (R028) at Makaha.
