July 3, 2018 - One Year Ago

Last year on this day was a very dark & sad day for many of us who called DB our friend. It was also a day that the monk seal community lost a very valuable contributor of which we will never see the likes of again.

We all have our stories, memories, and heartache over the loss of this beloved man. A couple of us were very aware of the day approaching and we wanted to pay our respects but more importantly we wanted to spend time with Mrs. Whisperer.

Sooo... this is what it looked like, what I thought would be a difficult and sad gathering turned out to be one of much love, respect and true friendship. I am honored to surrounded by these wonderful people and I will forever be grateful to the man I knew as DB for bringing us all together and teaching us about monk seals.  Love you forever !
