5/18/2018 Monk Seal Dailies

Today's "normal" if we can ever think of a day like today as normal dailies are brought to you by Team Billand, Lesley, Marilyn, and a followup from NOAA's Rabbit Island visit yesterday. Lesley's provided an update from today and yesterday (see next post).

Team Billand didn't have much luck today their only find was Kekoa Alii RK72.  Despite their checking several locations they did not find any other critters. Needless to say it was an extremely difficult day.

On a much needed relief and light of hope I received these photos:
Weaner formerly known as PO1 is now officially RK 38/39 Hali'a applied bleach N4 female born to Aukai.  She is cute, she is feisty and she is the future!  The other photos shows Momma Sadie with the newest pup of 2018 PO6.

Marilyn checked in on Kaiwi and PO3 early this morning and again early evening. The morning Mom & Pup were in snooze mode a rock flat. When she arrived this evening they were in the water then hauled out for an extended nursing session and then a snooze. Once again after a difficult day this helps to see their future.
