5/1/2018 Monk Seal Dailies: (Part 1)

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand. Part 2 of the dailies is a special Birthday wish to forever KP2 - Ho'ailona.

Team Billand came up empty on their early morning check. They had an appointment so they just did a quick peek. When they got back, they arrived at a Leeward Beach and found RN14 Kalani and RH32 Kaale in a small pond playing rough. At times Kaale was being squashed by Kalani and then they would hug, rest with RN14s head on Kaale's belly.  A few times Kalani held Kaale down for a while and Kaale came up slapping Kalani. Then the vocalizing began, these two are best buds but they sure get rough and tough.

Next stop to a Westside Beach where they found RIP RR70 sleeping on the rocks alone. His tags were showing and bleach was visible. On there afternoon check he was still there.

Team Billand headed to Paradise Cove and found two critters both in the lagoon. There was a volunteer on site and a zone was up. Apparently RH32 and RN14 moved from the Leeward Beach to Paradise Cove. They were there and still habing some play time. RH32 Kaale played with the buoys by jumping on them and holding it with his flipper and rest. RN14 Kalani played with the buoy too but Kaale the most playful.  People stayed out of the water so the seals had a great undisturbed time going from right to left.  Team Billand left after a while to check on the other lagoons.

When they got to Lagoon 2 there was Benny RE74 alone on shore. Lots of tourist and a zone surrounding him that security had set up. They spent time educating the folks and all were respectful today. Benny is in good condition, no new marks, no hooks, just his left side looks like it might have some new "scratches".  Team Billand left the site at 4 PM .
