12/23/2014 DB's Dailies: RM38&Aukai@RI, Kea@ETB, Rocky@SC, Kaiwi@CW, Pohaku@Nanakuli, Haupu@Maili,

Well, today was a definite improvement over yesterday’s conditions, but it still felt like a windy day on the Tundra. It would be 0800 before I found somebody. RM38 & Aukai were together at the log, in the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. That was quick to say, but it took until 1300 + to finally make the ID. I got a Hotline call from Joanne reporting an animal at Blowhole, a 0901. When I arrived at 913 I found Kea (RN46) high on the beach at Eternity Beach.

I got him cordoned off, and although he was a very popular boy with the touri, he has remained all day. Kea departed at 1805. Thank you Gayle for picking up the stuff.

At 1027 Gayle called with the report of an animal at Spitting Cave, which she was having difficulty confirming due to the less that stellar viewing conditions. I arrived at 1109, and at 1124 lucked out and saw Rocky’s right shoulder pit scar. When I got home later I saw that I’d gotten her left side N11 bleach, though I did not know it at the time.

Gayle also got Rocky’s pit scar, as well as her left side corner of the mouth, fishing line scar, again, not visible until the shots were analyzed. Gayle called at 1124 with word of Kaiwi (RK96) at China Walls.

Team Billand reported Pohaku (RO28) at “Depots”, Nanakuli. She departed at 1634.

At 1127 they reported Haupu (RB24) at Maipalaoa, Maili. The Billands reported her gone at 1651 .

I want to thank my friend who came to our aid yesterday Carol and her boy friend.

I couldnt find help, so I called her and Carol went out to Nanakuli for one hour to keep watch on Pohaku. She also called me to report, all is good, every one staying behind the stick zone and signs. There are folks drinking but they are good too.

Miss Haupu was in the middle of crap on the reef in Maili. We sat with her a bit as well. I wish she wouldnt go to that beach..its always polluted. She is getting so chunky, pretty, I just love her.

We didnt find any more critters...and Pohaku was good enough to leave at 4:54pm after being at Depots from 5am.

She left NOT BECAUSE OF THE BOOGIE BOARDERS, but of two other guys. Tsk. Tsk. But so glad she LEFT.

Well I wonder who will be the critters on Christmas Eve? We'll soon find out. Cheers.......
