At 0704 I found RM38 snoozin’ in the Morning Glory, at the log, 40 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. I got back to Makai Pier at 0900, and at 0930 RK36 & Kainoa hauled out together fronting 1BS . All remained the day.-DB.jpg)
I got a Hotline call from Joanne Sepian at 0943 reporting an animal at Blowhole. Ho-Hum.... another Kea in his cove call......... Wrong !....Again !!!. When I arrived at 1053 I found Kea alright, but today he was at Eternity Beach !!! I cordoned him off, and he has remained. Mahalos to Melanie & Gayle, & especially to Nelson & Kathy S., who called at 1655 to advise that Kea was thinking about departing , and Nelson was down below starting to pick up the stuff. When I arrived at 1708, Kea was just entering the water, and Nelson and I humped the stuff back up to the top. I looked up the data, and sure enough Kea began his marathon, 10 day ETB stay last year at this exact same time, partly in the company of a visiting RA20. Hopefully, he will not repeat again this year... pleeeeeze !! Seems like Kea is taking after his Momma (Irma) and giving DB a run for his money.... Team Billand checked in at 1254 with the report of Haupu (RB24) at Tower#1 , White Plains.

Hello???? Any Volunteers want to help us out at Plains if there is an animal out there today????
Seems school is out and there are lots of KIDS loose on the beaches.
Yesterday a family was next to Haupu, screaming their guts out at her. It went on for a while, thinking THE PARENTS would STEP in.
Ha.Ha. Nah. So I went over and asked them, ARE YOU TRYING TO SCARE THE SEAL AWAY??? WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THAT??? THey all just glared at me. Like I was from OUTER SPACE!!
I continued to TRY to educate the young folks, BUT THEY DIDNT GIVE A RIP. Ok, then I shall sit right there, watching. Shame on those children..where is the respect of animals?
Other than that family of kids, we just kept a watchful eye out for Haupu..from 12:48pm to 6:15pm. Hell, she deserved to be PROTECTED.
All she was doing was..SLEEPING!!
So...my morning PLEA for the day...HELP US OUT VOLUNTEERS. PLEASE.
We never got out to Leeward side at all...we werent gonna leave MISS HAUPU ALONE!!!!
Some guys asked when is this SEAL LION going to LEAVE. Sorry, this monk seal is resting, and when she wants to leave..SHE WILL.
We met up with Linda S and her sweet friend..at KoOlina..nice to see her again. We hung out for a while, waiting for a seal to show up, but they never did on our search AT THAT TIME of the Morning.
That sky was so pretty, stars all out still, the moon a crescent. The beaches..vacant, everyone setting up for their day at the hotels.
We ate breakfast at White Plains, just watching the surfers..SURF. Sunrise was awesome as USUAL out there.
