Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:16 to 1:55 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.
On the back Lanikai side of LPB was a seal labeled as RU38: older weaner size and shape, two red tags, tan female belly. Later she moved out on the rock flats and appeared to be foraging in the tide pools.
At the top of the berm in middle LPB was one of the recent weaners: (Labeled RU64) chubby weaner size, light gray male belly and two red tags. At 1:27 pm Marilyn discovered this seal had disappeared. She doesn't know if he went into the water or into the depression near the cliffs. He was not seen again.
On the 1BS side of LPB were a group of four seals who were somewhat apart from each other.
The seal on the Lanikai side of the group is labeled TempN25. Newly molted no tags, sub-adult size.
Next was a Sub-adult Male: sub-adult size, older coat with golden brown male belly and two red tags.
Closer to 1BS was a Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, old coat with lots of green, female belly and at least one red tags.
Closest to 1BS was one of the weaners. Marilyn thinks it is RU24, older weaner size and shape, two red tags and a light gray male belly.
Team R&B started their day at pokai where they spotted a seal foraging. They studied the seal for quite some time, one tag they couldn't read. They believe it to be RH48 Lei Ola, clean coat, scar on her body. She was really busy foraging, doing fast three minute dives.
Heading over to tracks they were thrilled to find a cute little female seal on shore. There were a couple of folks taking photos. Team R&B saw her tag RS32 Ui Mea Ola. Checking in with the posse, Marilyn noted this is RJ58's 2023 pup, making this Rocky's grand-daughter.
While viewing little RS32, another seal came hauling in. It was Lefty RG28, checking her out. He went over sniffed her and cuddled for a few minutes. Then he rolled off and was gone, but she stayed.
Still at tracks they found R604 resting alone on shore. She continues with her molt. Then further to the right there was a commotion so they headed out and away from R604. (didn't want to bring any attention to her)
Lastly at electric beach they saw divers in the water trying to hurry to shore with their catch. Then they saw a buoy flying out of the water with the two divers hurrying on shore.
There were two seals, and one of them may have wanted the divers catch which was a taco. Thankfully there wasn't a interaction.
They found R3CX Nalu with RL12 Aukai. They notified the hotline.
