August 11, 2025 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:33 to 2:52 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.
On the rock flats Lanikai side of LPB and then on LPB were four seals:
Both RU48 and RU64 (PO11 & PO12) were there. Recent chubby weaner size and shape, two red tags and male bellies.
TempN25: sub-adult size, older coat, male belly and applied N25 bleaches on mid dorsal and rump.
Unknown Weaner: (either RU24 (m) or RU38 (f): older weaner size and two red tags. Marilyn never saw the belly so she didn't know the sex.
The above four moved around a lot and the U/W was by itself for a while.
Near the 3BS was an Adult Female: adult size, new coat, two red tags and gray female belly.
At 1:53 pm a Juvenile Female hauled out near the SRI channel. Ultimately the JF galumphed almost 100 feet along the shore to get near the AF, but they never actually interacted. The JF was juvenile size, light female belly and two red tags.

Team R&B had an appointment this morning so they got a late start. They stopped at plains and found RG28 Lefty still together with RL12 Aukai. They were in a nice zone that had been set up for them. They noted Aukai looked a little thin today but okay.  They're betting Lefty going to be the daddy for next years pup.
Then they found a third seal who was once again KG89 Huakai, the lovely seal from Kure Atoll.
She is a beauty despite all the scars on her chest area. Her gray tag was visible.  She was on the shoreline snoozing with the waves smashing into her, but she no mind.  They noted she still has the hook with line.

After leaving plains they checked around and once again saw the unknown male and unknown female at tracks. They viewed them from afar and noted the U/M has a cc scar on its belly and a cc scar on right lower side. This made them think it could be RL08.
The female they believe to be R604, both in the same spot as yesterday. They were grateful there were no dogs out today, just lots of people.
