Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:17 to 3:02 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.
At the back middle of LPB was one of the recent weaners labeled RU64 (or could be RU48): chubby weaner size, light male belly, did not see its tags today.
On the 1BS side of LPB were two seals:
Sun-adult Male: sub-adult size, older coat with some green, two red tags and golden-brown male belly.
Near by was molting TempN25: sub-adult size, about 80% molted, N25 applied bleach are now gone, no tags.
Down from 1BS was the other recent weaner labeled RU48: chubby weaner size. light male belly and two red tags.
Down from 3BS was what Marilyn initially thought was an Adult Male, but now labeling it a Sub-adult Female: sub-adult to adult size, old coat, at least one red tag, green female belly. This seal appears to have some line scar on the right neck area.
Out on RRB was an Unknown Juvenile: juvenile size, two red tags, no information on its sex.
Team R&B's first sighting were two seals foraging at the rest camp area and the jetty. One of them has a lot of green on its coat, and they're not sure of its sex. The other seal with a clean coat has a tag but they just couldn't read it.
They headed over to tracks and at first didn't see any seals. They took some time and looked around and finally they spotted a seal resting. It was the lovely R604 alone resting peacefully with no people or dogs roaming around.
Lastly they spotted another seal on shore from afar. So they made their way to another west side beach and found a big seal with no tags, no significant scars that they were familiar with. While checking out the seal a group of 20 kids showed up, all running toward the seal. Team R&B did their best to get the kids away from the seal, some listened other threw sand at the seal. The seal reacted by barking.
The kids kept running around, and Team R&B kept telling them to move away, meanwhile hoping that the seal would just leave.
Then three kids came by again made sand balls ready to throw at the seal. Barb made her best Tita voice and the kids put the sand down. Finally the seal gave in did a big snort and yawn and headed for the water. They weren't sure who this male is, possibly Kaale?? big male with lots of green and no tags.
