02/02/2020 Sunday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand and Marilyn.

Marilyn was treated to the company of Right Spot today. She made a stop at an east side location. She is looking good and was ID'd by her upper chest scar, female belly, line scar on left side of her face AND her infamous NB on her right side. Nice to see her in the neighborhood.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. There were four seals, one seal alone at Left Point Beach and a group of three by the 1BS.

The seal at LPB was an unknown adult, Marilyn thinks it was a female but could not confirm.
The group of three was a Sub-adult male, Unknown Juvenile, and a unknown juvenile female.
The cast of three changed positions several times, which makes getting an ID and keeping track really confusing.

This morning Team Billand made a quick stop to ID a seal on the rocks. It was RL20 Kalua, sleeping in the same spot as yesterday. Good chance he spent the night especially since he was completely dry.

Team Billand did their usual checks but was kept busy by having a number of seals show up together.
In this beautiful group of seals there was Kawena RH36.
Ka'ale RH32 greeted RL20 with a snort. RL20 Kalua galumphed to Ka'ale and both seals entered the water. Team Billand watched and off shore they could see multiple seals fighting/playing.

It took them a while but they were able to get most of their IDs. RW02 PvKauai came in and hauled out first.
Shortly after R3CX  and Kekoa Alii RK72 came in together.
Rg28 Lefty, RL20 Kalua and Ka'ale RH32 were the other three.  Ka'ale and Lefty hauled out but little Kalua never came back in.

Of course there was the lone female Kawena who was already on shore.
