02/13/2020 Thursday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand, Melody and Lesley. Lesley's complete Ka'ena update is part 2 of the dailies.

Team Billand sent emails from this afternoon. I don't know if they had any activity in the morning.
Around 1 pm on the westside they found Kolohe RW22  was resting lower rocks. In Barb's own words looking pregnant, but we KNOW that not true. LOL  He's just getting some good foraging in.
RG28 Lefty was with RL20 Kalua in the water hole.
RL20 got to close to the water hole, rolled and touched Kolohe who went ballistic and flying his hind flippers in the air.
RL20 Kalua took off out of the way, Kolohe would move to the bigger shallow water and RG28 Lefty ended up with the water hole all to himself.

Kekoa Alii RK72 was in the neighborhood, but stayed clear of the ruckus.

At 3:30 they moved to another west side location there was one seal. There was a big wallow, perhaps there had been another seal, but the only seal there was R3CX Nalu.
On their travels they also came across a very large Honu.

Melody spent the morning photographing cherry blossoms in Wahiawa and on her way home decided to stop on the west side. She met up with Team Billand and caught up on seal stories. After leaving Team Billand, Melody made a stop at another westside location and spotted a seal hauling out on the rocks.  Initially Melody thought it was a smaller seal, and was surprised when she checked her photos to see the tag shot was RH32. None other than Ka'ale Mr. Butthead.
