02/19/2020 Wednesday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand and Marilyn.

Marilyn took advantage of some time she had between waiting for the plumber today. She went to the pier today between 2 & 3 when there was a moment of clear skies.
There were two seals on Rabbit Island.  On the beach down from the 1BS was an unknown juvenile male (UJM). He was a small juvenile, light male belly and two tags. Unclear if this is a 2018 or 2019 kid, RK24 is a possibility.
Behind the waterfront rocks to the Makapuu side of Seal Rock Inlet was a large seal. At first Marilyn thought there might have been two seals, but it probably had to do with its coat being wet and dry. She suspects this is the same seal from Monday UU#1 and it may be a female. She did not see any distinguishing markings, but the seal was partially hidden.

Team Billand did their usual route and when they got to the outfall their only find was a beautiful rainbow.
Just before 8 am they arrived at plains and found Buster RV08. He was on shore with some signs up. It was cold and windy day on the beach. Team Billand called the hotline.
They did spot a big pod of dolphins and lots of boats.

At 10 am Team Billand arrived at a westside beach and found Kekoa Alii RK72 already hauled up on left high rocks, well hidden.  Melody was also on site checking out the critters.
Lefty RG28 was on lower rocks snoozing with little RL20 Kalua. Kalua is looking green and completely comfortable hanging out with the big boys on lower rocks.

Another seal arrives, RH32 Kaale came in through left seal inlet, looking for space and spotted the other critters. He hesitated and then came in, of course little RL20 didn't was to give up his space so they had words. Ka'ale RH32 stay in his location for the day.

Next to arrive R3CX Nalu came in through the right side inlet, hauled up and stayed put. He is looking healthy, no new markers.

Just about noon time RG40 Holokai arrived on left lower rocks, checking the area out.  He spotted the other seals. He continued to the right as Ka'ale reacted to him on lower rocks. Holokai moved on to his own side and stayed for the day. He is looking fat and healthy, getting in some good eating.

Then when Team Billand was checking another west side location they spotted two turtles in two different locations.
